According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the reason for the Level 3 evacuation notice is there is a large ammonia tank next to the burning building that could potentially explode. The fire is currently contained to the Washington Potato site and no other structures have been damaged.

The blaze started about 5:30 pm at Washington Potato. The fire reportedly began in the dehydrator and then extended to the structure.

Fire agencies from across Grant and Adams County have responded. No injuries have been reported.

State Route 170 has been closed from SR 17 to Main Street in Warden.

A Level 3 "GO NOW" evacuation notice has been issued for all areas west of Road U-SE and south of SR170, Warden.

This Level 3 notice means you should leave the area now. Do not delay.

Law enforcement officers will go door-to-door to notify persons in the Level 3 area.

Emergency services may not be able to help you later if you decide to stay.

A Level 1 Evacuation notice has been declared in Grant County due to a structure fire at Washington Potato.

The notice is for all Warden areas west of Road U-SE and south of SR 170.

A Level 1 notice means "Get Ready". Those under a Level 1 notice should take steps now to prepare in order to be ready to leave the area quickly if asked. If you have special needs, a trailer or recreational vehicle, or if you have livestock or pets, you should consider leaving the area soon.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office previously reported on their Twitter account that Warden Police and several fire agencies are on the scene of a commercial structure fire at Washington Potato in Warden. Early reports indicated no injuries.
