Several Douglas County Sheriff deputies spotted a vehicle revving its engine and squealing the tires near the south end of the Wenatchee Valley Mall Saturday night at around 11:17 p.m. The deputies watched the vehicle head north through the mall lot at an estimated 60 mph. As the deputies caught up to the vehicle, the vehicle fled and ran into a tree on French Avenue and the deputies blocked the vehicle in.

The driver, Jeffrey J. Tyquiengco, 22, continued to drive away by accelerating and spinning the tires. The deputies gained compliance by using a taser and Tyquiengco was arrested with no further incident.

The 22 year old was booked into Chelan County Jail for attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle with no ignition interlock device, driving while license suspended/revoked in the 3rd degree and resisting arrest.
