A 35-year-old Mattawa man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he supposedly was firing a pistol at passing cars on State Route 243.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says they received a called around 3:15 p.m. that Matt Garoutte was shooting at cars just south of Priest Rapids Dam.

When they arrived, Garoutte ran inside a building on the property and refused to come out for 30 minutes. He was eventually taken into custody and placed into Grant County Jail and faces possible charges of being a felon with a firearm and reckless endangerment.

If you find that your car was hit by a bullet Thursday afternoon in this area, you are asked to contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
