Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center (WVDRC) is offering a 40-hour Basic Mediation Training course this fall.

The six day course will span two weekends, November 8th, 9th, and 10th and November 22nd, 23rd and 24th.

Executive Director Jennifer Talbot said those that wish to become a certified volunteer mediator with the WVDRC will find conflict and dispute come in many forms.

"Whether it's a family conflict, a neighbor to neighbor dispute, workplace conflict, or business/consumer dispute," explained Talbot, "when people are in conflict and are stuck in a certain place, they just need guidance. They need that neutral third party to walk them through that communication process."

The class is meant for those interested in become a certified volunteer mediator, people wanting to learn more effective ways to deal with conflict, or those looking for relevant professional training.

"For educators that are interested in Clock Hours we have a process for applying for those." added Talbot, "We also offer (Continuing Legal Education) credits for attorneys."

The cost for the six day interactive learning experience is $500 until October 25th, or $550 after. Groups of three or more cost $400 per registration. Course materials are provided.
