Mission Ridge is preparing to open for its 54th season with snow making operations underway, starting on November 1st.

Beyond snow making, the ski resort also has to prepare for a different kind of year with COVID-19.

"The Ski Well, Be Well program is the national program and each area is modifying and tweaking to meet local and state health official guidelines," said Josh Jorgensen, general manager.

According to Jorgensen, nationally, regionally and locally the industry has been meeting all summer to prepare for the season with COVID-19.

"We have 2,000 acres to spread out on, you're moving constantly and being outside is definitely an advantage," said Jorgensen.

Mission Ridge ended last season early due to COVID-19.
