There's an increase of evacuation notices in the Cedar Creek Fire which continues to grow near Mazama in Okanogan County.

It includes several Level 2 (GET READY) and one Level 3 (Evacuate NOW ) alerts. A Red Cross shelter is available at Methow Valley Elementary School.

The fire covers more than 8,400 acres and is 11 percent contained as of Wednesday morning. There are 351 people working the fire.

The Washington Department of Transportation reports the closure of State Route 20 North Cascades Highway west of Mazama will likely be in place at least through the rest of July, if not longer. The projection is based on observations from first responders who are on the scene as wildfires in Okanogan County continuing to burn and even grow. A portion of the Cedar Creek Fire touches the highway itself.

The Cedar Creek and Delancy Fires are burning in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in very steep and rocky terrain in heavy down fuels.

Below is a breakdown of evacuation notices for the Cedar Creek Fire:

A Level 3 Evacuate NOW has been issued for all persons living on the gravel portion of Wolf Creek Road from State Route 20 east to the pavement, Winthrop Washington due to the Cedar Creek Fire.

Level 2 (BE READY) has been issued for all persons living north of the Methow River from the end of Lost River, east on Lost River Road to Mazama then east on Goat Creek Road to the intersection of SR 20, including the Edelweiss area.

Level 2 (Be Ready) has been issued for all persons living between State Route 20 and the Methow River from the intersection of SR 20 and Goat Creek Road east towards Winthrop to Mile Post 190.5.

Level 2 (Be Ready) has been issued for persons living off of Wolf Creek Road between the Wolf Creek Bridge and Green Road.

Level 2 (BE READY) has been issued for the Sun Mountain Lodge area.Persons should be aware of their surroundings and take action if needed.This may be the only notice you receive.Do not wait for door to door notification, take action if needed.

Level 2 (BE READY) is being issued due to the increased fire activity on the Cedar Creek Fire, Mazama Washington.
