North Central Regional Library is hosting two bestselling authors, Ijeoma Oluo and Jason Reynolds, in August as part of its Virtual Reads summer series. Both authors will drop in to visit participants via Zoom with Oluo sharing on August 18 at 7 and Reynolds on August 25 at 4.

Oluo penned the book So You Want to Talk about Race and her conversation will be more geared toward adults.

"It's a user friendly examination of race in America," said Amanda Brack, adult services manager. "These are such important conversations and the library is excited to provide a platform for these conversations and really promote anti-racism."

Reynolds, bestselling author of poetry and novels for young adult and middle grade audiences, will follow up that conversation. He most recently released the book, Stamped, Racism, Anti-Racism, and You and this conversation is more family friendly.

"We're just looking forward to make this conversation available and accessible for all ages," said Brack.

The event is cosponsored with Confluence Health, the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, and the Icicle Fund and partners include Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center and Wenatchee Valley College.
