Kids who raised animals to be sold at the NCW Fair, which was canceled earlier in the year due to COVID-19, will be able to do so next week thanks to the NCW Fair Virtual Livestock Auction.

Clerk Ann Whitehall said around 130 animals will be in the auction.

"Not every kid lives on a farm, nor do they have ways to dispose of those critters." said Whitehall, "It was a project, it was a fundraiser, and they had an investment in the animal."

Whitehall stated that they will use the same auctioneer as last year, just in a virtual capacity that will include Ebay-style bidding.

"(The auctioneer) will provide me with invoices on who the successful bidders are on Friday after the sale. Then I will need to survey the buyers to find out what they want done with their animals, because it's an auction website and there is no 'turn' button," Whitehall added.

Billing will be handled by the NCW Fair.

The auction goes live Wednesday at 8:00 am, and auctions begin to close next Friday at 3:00 pm.
