New Downtown Chelan County Fire District 1 Station Opens

Chelan County Fire District 1's new station in the 700 block of North Wenatchee Avenue is now open for business, officially replacing the former headquarters on the corner of Chelan Avenue and Yakima Street.

Chief Brian Brett previously told NewsRadio 560 KPQ that the original plan was to move in around October 1st.

"The second floor is the firefighter crew quarters. The main floor is all offices." detailed Brett, "We have drive-thru apparatus bays. It has a daylight, walk out basement with a meeting room downstairs and an exercise room."

The district will hold an open house eventually, but no concrete date has been set due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some minor work on the building has still yet to be completed.
