With what's considered the 4th coronavirus relief package now signed into law, many eyes in Congress are already looking to a possible 5th stimulus bill.

4th District Representative Dan Newhouse stated they will likely explore what programs, that have already been put into place, need more assistance or need to be augmented.

Previously, it was somewhat assumed that large-scale infrastructure investments would come in the form of its own separate bill. Newhouse added that infrastructure may now be addressed in the upcoming 5th stimulus bill.

Then there is the issue of social distancing while still providing a fair and effective legislative process. Members of the House of Representatives voted in small groups in the chamber Thursday.

"The passage of some of these large spending bills really need to have more scrutiny and a more hands-on approach of all members of Congress versus just allowing the leadership of both the House and the Senate ... to be making a lot of the decisions about the direction these bills take," said Newhouse.

So far, the U.S. government has spent almost $3 trillion in coronavirus relief.
