The 2020 Congressional Art Competition recently began again.

4th District Representative Dan Newhouse says, for those of his high school constituents that are interested, artwork and paperwork should be submitted to one of his district offices. The deadline is April 30th.

"The winner of the competition will receive two plane tickets to Washington D.C." explained Newhouse, "They can participate in some activities and certainly see their art and where it's displayed here in the nation's capitol."

Second and third place pieces will be displayed in Newhouse's Yakima and Richland offices.

Last year's winner in the 4th district was Almira Coulee Hartline High School student Meredith Sconce's "A Million Dots of Diversity"

"It's a great opportunity to expose some of our budding young artists in the state of Washington and let the know world how talented they are," Newhouse added.

Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photography.
