Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has yet to turn the Articles of Impeachment against former president Donald Trump over to the Senate, meaning an exact start to any impeachment trial in the Senate is in limbo.

4th District Representative Dan Newhouse said one plan by Senate Democrats is to conduct their usual legislative process in the morning and have the impeachment trial proceedings in the afternoon.

"In theory it sounds great, but I have problems thinking that the Senate can move that nimbly, that quickly, and that efficiently." Newhouse said, "I don't mean that as a criticism. It's just practically making all of the wheels turn is a very difficult task to achieve."

Newhouse, a Republican, added that the Democrats will have to be very strategic moving forward, since losing just one party vote in the Senate means a loss of majority.
