One Dead in Wenatchee Vehicle Fire

A vehicle fire turned deadly on Red Apple Road near South Miller Street in Wenatchee Sunday night.

PIO Kay McKellar says Chelan County Fire District 1 and Wenatchee police responded just before midnight to a report of a truck with a camper on fire.

"Upon arrival to the fire the vehicle was fully involved." McKellar stated, "There was a deceased person in the vehicle."

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

It took the fire department roughly 3 hours to knock down the fire and finish clearing the scene. The vehicle had been observed parked in that area in the past. The cause is under investigation, although officials are treating the incident as an accident.
