Pedestrian Struck by U-Haul on Mission Street Saturday

An unidentified woman from the Wenatchee area was struck by a U-Haul truck while crossing the intersection of Peachy and Mission Street just after 5 Saturday evening.

Wenatchee Police Sergeant Erik Vasquez said the U-haul, driven by an unidentified woman, was heading southbound as the victim and another person crossed Mission Street, complete with an orange crossing flag.

"As they were traveling east to west, there was a car in front of the U-Haul." detailed Vasquez, "The other car continued through the intersection. However the U-Haul didn't see them in the crosswalk and struck the female."

Although the victim complained of head, neck, back and ankle pain, it did not appear that she was seriously injured.

The driver was compliant and showed no signs of impairment. The incident is under investigation, and it's unclear if there will be any charges.
