The Mattawa City Council moved forward with an increase in the residential garbage pickup rate and PETA responded by offering to offset costs by paying for “Meat and Dairy Trash the Planet—Go Vegan" ads on city garbage trucks.

"PETA is reminding everyone that we all have the power to protect our health and the environment every time we sit down to eat by choosing vegan foods," said Marrisa Price, Development Program Manager. "Eating meat, eggs and dairy is completely unnecessary and unhealthy."

Price added the Earth friendly ads will remind residents that one of the best ways to clean up the planet is take personal responsibility by going vegan.
