The city of Wenatchee approved the building permit for 14 townhomes in May 2018 at 301 River Park Avenue. The city is holding a public hearing on the subdividing and individual sale of the units next Tuesday, September 24 at 3 p.m.

"Now the property owner is coming back and subdividing each one of those individual townhome units onto its own piece of property so they can be sold individually," said Stephen Neuenschwander, planning manager.

The property is located within the Waterfront Mixed Use zoning district and the Waterfront Recreational/Residential Overlay district. The applicant has also packed in some public benefit for the project as well.

"The applicant is extending the sidewalk. So just past the vet clinic, their going to build curb, gutter and sidewalk in front of the storage unit development and across their frontage and then build the 5 foot asphalt path all the way to the park," said Neuenschwander. "So from Walla Walla to the park access, there will be a safe pedestrian path now."

The public hearing will be in the council chambers.
