The city of Quincy amended the interlocal agreement with Grant County Fire District No. 3 at Tuesday's council meeting. The amendment was to allow for personnel to provide fire and emergency medical protection services at the city's public safety building and the fire station in George.

"About a year ago, we completed the public safety building and that is staffed by the fire district," said Pat Haley, city administrator. "So we amended our agreement to cover the staff for that along with staff that serves George, which the city of Quincy also pays for."

This encompassed residency firefighters, volunteers and a stipend that's paid to volunteers who work overnight in the building. The fiscal impact is roughly up to $54,000.

"We are accounting for how many hours, how many days, how many shifts, particular firemen work," said Haley.
