Quincy Schools has a new Assistant Superintendent after the district named David Garza Jr. to the position Monday.

Garza has been serving as the Director of Student Support Services in the Wahluke School District.

A release from Quincy Schools says Garza was a migrant student from Northern Mexico and eventually settling in Othello.

He attended Lamar University and has a master's degree from Western Governors University.

Quincy School Superintendent Dr. Nik Bergman said he's looking forward to partnering with Garza to move the district from recovering from the pandemic to thriving.

The release said Garza currently lives on a small farm in Othello, WA, with his wife and four children.

“It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Assistant Superintendent for Quincy School District," said Garza. "I am in service of talented students, committed teachers and staff, loving families, and supportive community members."

The release did not say when Garza would start work at Quincy Schools.
