Winter is fast approaching and with it, comes snowfall. Chelan County Public Works asks residents to do their part in assisting road crews by removing parked vehicles along county road shoulders. Vehicles parked along the edge of the road causes issues to arise for snowplowing operations and safety hazards for drivers.

A vehicle is considered "abandoned" if left within the county right of way longer than 24 hours which could lead to the vehicle to be removed or impounded by the sheriff's office. Any fees for removal for impoundment will fall on the owner of the abandoned vehicle. According to public works, vehicle can park along the right of way if it isn't designated as 'no parking' area or isn't obstructing traffic or road maintenance which includes snowplowing.
