Governor Jay Inslee recently relaxed restrictions on residential construction and deemed it essential under the stay home order. However despite the previous March 27th deadline given by commissioners, contracts had to have been in place March 23rd.

"It needed to be in existence before March 23," said Lee Pfluger, Building North Central Washington CEO. "And that could be, a contract signed before 23, a permit issued before March 23."

While construction can resume on projects, no projects can be started from scratch during the 'Stay Home, Stay Healthy' order.

"This will get most of our contractors up and going for the short term," said Pfluger. "We will need to see some new projects approved to keep things going in the near future."

If there is a need for home emergency work, such as risk of spoliation, those can move forward as well.
