The state has a stack of transportation project commitments to fund and legislators are exploring avenues for revenue in the legislative session. A road usage charge is being worked on by legislators.

"We will be hearing a bill on the road usage charge next week (the first week of February) and that does come to us a little differently than has been proposed (in the past). It has a voluntary aspect to it," said 12th District Representative Keith Goehner. "It's very much still a moving target, but it has to be nailed down soon."

The transportation commitments include the SR 520 bridge, and according to Rep. Goehner, legislators are searching for funding options to support that project. The transportation committee is anticipating the reveal of the transportation budget from the budget committee the first week of February.
