The Schneider Springs Fire continues to produce more than its share of smoke as it burns northwest of Yakima.

Although the area experienced windy conditions yesterday and overnight there was no unexpected fire activity. Fire officials are expecting most of the activity today in the northeast portion of the blaze, near the community of Cliffdell. Homes around Goose Prairie and Bumping Lake are also taking priority.

Much of the fire's eastern flank is being monitored while it slowly burns in the wilderness.

The blaze has burned over 102,000 acres and is 26% contained.

Evacuations are as follows:

LEVEL 2: Bumping River Road corridor from north to south; Highway 410 corridor from Salmon Cove to Pinecliff;

LEVEL 1: Highway 410 corridor from Pinecliff to the junction of U.S. Route 12, and from U.S. 12 at Hwy 410 west to Tieton Reservoir Rd.
