8th District Representative Kim Schrier participated in a hearing Tuesday on increasing COVID-19 vaccinations and improving the supply chain.

According to a release from Schrier's office, there were several key takeaways from the hearing. Towns and counties are individually having to create their own vaccine distribution systems instead of being provided models by the federal government, while states reportedly remain hamstrung by limited vaccine doses. The Sammamish Democrat added that all levels of government need to be taking steps now to improve supply chains, saying "we can and must do better."

Schrier touted Kittitas County's vaccination efforts during the hearing, highlighting the fact that they've administered 98% of their vaccine doses. She also praised the Kittitas County Public Health Office's 'nimble' distribution system.
