Parents that are at their wits end with a sudden spurt of teenage angst, parents looking for third party advice or parents just wanting to hear other approaches to difficult feats raising kids, there is an opportunity to learn at the Love and Logic Parenting Class that will be held at Cashmere Middle School.

"It's tools for parents that are struggling with how to raise their children in the best way," said Steffanie Haney, event coordinator. "I think tools that will empower and maybe give ideas to parents that hadn't thought of, creative things to try."

There will be two opportunities for both English and Spanish speaking parents. The first English course will be Friday, November 1, evening from 5:15-8. If parents can't make that time frame, the second English class will be Saturday, November 2 from 8-4 p.m. The courses in Spanish will be the following Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, with the same time frames.

"I think it's giving parents hope and things to try that will encourage them on the journey so they don't feel so alone. I think a lot of times parents feel really alone," said Haney.

According to Haney, this is the second year for the event and last year's classes were met with positive feedback from the parents that attended the course. The instructors leading the classes are from Together! For Youth in Wenatchee.

"We try to make it as accessible as possible. $10 just to buy the book and then we provide dinner, breakfast, lunch and child care. We try really hard to make it something that is manageable," said Haney.
