Fencing, checkpoints and other security measures will remain around the state capitol for at least the near future after Governor Inslee stated Friday that he was more concerned about seeing 'something happen' with the insurgency at the U.S. Capitol than reopening the capitol in Olympia.

Inslee said his office has been advised by security personnel, the Washington State Patrol, Washington National Guard and the FBI that there is some degree of threat at the moment.

"We rely on these experts in this regard. We try not to intrude too much in their threat assessment." Inslee explained, "We hope things will come to a more peaceful and civil result as the Biden Administration has each additional day under their belt and those who are allied to an unmentionable person who used to hold office in our country fade from view."

Security measures have been in place ever since late January, when rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol, the Governor's Manson's grounds in Olympia, and the Washington State legislative session began.
