Drivers crossing Snoqualmie Pass this winter have noticed patches where it is difficult to determine where the lanes are, particularly at night.

Summer Deery with WSDOT says they want to fix that

"We're taking a bunch of measures to make that drive a little bit easier along Keechelus Lake for drivers through illumination.

Deery says they have tried to paint the roadways but the winter weather washes it off.

"We are doing LEDs that are called recess, and we have to grind the roadway and we are installing them into the roadway. They're solar paneled so they'll light up at night."

Work will also include clearing some snow to help widen the road, cleaning of reflectors and installing portable lighting.

Expect temporary single-lane closures throughout the day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with complete road closures overnight.
