Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort founder Harriet Stimson Bullitt is dead at the age of 97.

The Seattle Times reports Bullitt died early Saturday at her home at the resort in Leavenworth.

Bullitt was heavily involved in the family run Bullitt Foundation, which provided more than $200 million in grants to support environmental and conservation causes.

Governor Jay Inslee tweeted a tribute to Bullitt over the weekend, calling her one of three true icons of Washington State.

Bullitt also owned Icicle Broadcasting, which operated a group of local radio stations until recently.

Icicle Broadcasting operated KOHO FM radio from Leavenworth and Wenatchee, which was recently donated to the Sleeping Lady Foundation, and is now programmed by Northwest Public Broadcasting.

Icicle also owned KOZI AM and FM and KZAL “Z-Country,” which it sold last year to Chelan Valley Media Group.

Bullitt was an heir to the family that started KING broadcasting in Seattle.
