Slidewaters Water Park in Chelan shared a press release Friday afternoon, saying the company has no choice but to layoff its 150 employees and suspend their season effective Monday, July 20th.

The water park's owners cited "extraordinary and unfair harm and suffering" brought upon by the Governor and L&I.

With the federal Paycheck Protection Program and Small Business debt-relief program, plus 30 days of operation, Slidewaters has been able to cover most of its operating expenses. However, with the suspension of their season and uncertainty going forward, the company claims it could be forced to permanently close its gates.

The water park will remain open through Sunday, July 19th.
