Soap Lake Police, with assists from Ephrata Police and the Grant County Sheriff's Office, arrested two men Sunday after a short pursuit in which the driver exited a vehicle while it was moving.

Law enforcement was looking for a black Mercedes without license plate, locating it around 9:00 a.m.

The driver Irbin Martinez Santacruz, of Moses Lake tried to flee, but quickly decided to jump from the vehicle and try to escape on foot.

The car would eventually come to rest and the passenger Tony Gonzales, of Soap Lake, was arrested for a felony Department of Corrections warrant.

Santacruz was tracked, with GCSO K9 Chicka eventually locating him under a motor home on Main Ave E. He was arrested on felony eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and malicious mischief for damaging property. Santacruz was also booked on a felony narcotics possession warrant and Department of Corrections warrant.

It was the second time Santacruz was captured by a Grant County Sheriff's K9.
