Soap Lake Police conducted a search warrant on a home on Fir Street N Monday after receiving what they deemed credible reports of the resident building an improvised explosive device, or IED, to harm another person.

A Tactical Response Team found evidence consistent with the concern in the residence.

On Tuesday the Washington State Patrol Interagency Bomb Squad and secured the house.

In a Facebook post discussing the incident, SLPD did not indicate if any arrests were made but stressed there was never any danger to the public.
