The state's revenue forecast was updated this week, and while it showed improvement from June, it still shows a projected a nearly $4 billion deficit for the next five years.

Senate Republican budget leader John Braun says legislators still need to fill a significant budget hole.

"Even though we got a big budget problem, if we will just hold back and not get in the way of the private sector and not lump more taxes on top of them, I believe that it will continue to respond positively. We have a clear path forward, but we can't just sit on our hands and expect that to happen by itself."

Braun says business closures, wildfires and the possibility that Boeing will move its 7-87 jetliner out of state may put additional pressure on the budget.
