Swastika Removed From Apple Capitol Loop Trail
While reports of tagging and various graffiti are not uncommon to the Wenatchee Valley, a more hateful symbol was found on the Apple Capitol Loop Trail last weekend.
According to our news partner iFIBER ONE, a Swastika Eagle was found spray-painted on the retaining wall beside a portion of the trail's Hydro Park extension in East Wenatchee. A passerby reported the swastika to Rivercom around 9:30 am Saturday.
The graffiti would not be considered a hate crime because it doesn't target a specific person or group of people and instead would be classified as malicious mischief.
Police have no suspects, and the swastika was reportedly removed by WSDOT.
