Three Rivers Hospital, based in Brewster, was recently gifted personal protective equipment, four sets of Powered Air Purifying Respirators, from the Three Rivers Hospital Foundation. The new Ford PAPRs will be the prioritized equipment instead of the hospital's 20 year old existing equipment.

"The Three Rivers Hospital Foundation has been really proactive in reaching out to us to find out if we need anything for patient care and our staff during the pandemic," said Jennifer Best, public records officer. "One of the things we came up with was our PAPRS."

The new Ford PAPRs will be the prioritized equipment instead of the hospital's 20 year old existing equipment. The new set of PAPRs are more lightweight and easier to use versus the dated PAPRs that were heavy, hot and difficult to move around in.

"We're addressing policies and training to get everybody on staff and all of our providers trained on how to use them," said Best. "We're extremely grateful to the foundation for helping us upgrade our PPE to a 21st century standard."
