Tim Larson appears to be the winner in the race for Wenatchee School Board, position 2, despite announcing his withdrawal from the race in August.

District Communications Manager Diana Haglund says Larson has given every intention to assume a spot on the board and is still eligible.

"At this point he is excited and he is ready to serve and looking forward to his term in office. He will be sworn in at the November 26th meeting and then after that, if his housing situation changes then he can make a decision about his next steps at that time."

Larson had announced his withdrawal noting he was moving out of the district, but has not yet done so.

He currently leads board member Karina Vega-Villa by more than 600 votes with the next round of results being released Friday afternoon.
