Kittitas County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a 44-year-old Spokane resident, James W. Horlacher, early Tuesday morning on multiple charges after what they believe was a drug-induced string of accidents and stolen cars.

The suspect was driving on I-90 just east of Snoqualmie Pass when they hit another car.

The second driver followed Horlacher to a residential road nearby when the Spokane man crashed into a ditch.

He tried to break into a nearby home when he was met by the armed resident so he fled and found the car he hit, which he then stole while the victim was on the phone with 911.

He crashed that car into a nearby ditch near the interstate and tried to flee on the highway.

Horlacher eventually climbed onto a parked truck on I-90 and was trying to get inside.

Deputies found him there and made the arrest without incident.
