Two people are recovering after an accident Monday afternoon on State Route 28 east of Quincy.

Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said 74-year-old Randall Jimmerson was driving a 2019 Chevy Silverado pickup when he allegedly caused the crash, striking a Ford Expedition and injuring 55-year-old Thelma Vargas and her unnamed passenger.

"Ms. Vargas and her passenger were transported to (Quincy Valley Medical Center)." Bryant said, "Luckily it's a really short transport from there."

Both are said to have non-life-threatening injuries. Jimmerson was not injured.

The road was blocked for about an hour and 45 minutes while crews cleaned up all the debris from the accident.
