Two-Year-Old rescued from Banks Lake After Boating Accident

A two-year-old was rescued after a two-boat accident in the Jones Bay portion of Banks Lake near Electric City.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says 33-year-old Alexander Bozko of an unspecified Western Washington town was not paying attention driving his wake boat and hit a pontoon boat driven by a 51-year-old Cashmere man.

The collision tossed both Bozko and the child, who was on the pontoon boat, into the water and both required rescuing by nearby boaters.

The two-year-old was wearing a lifejacket which deputies credit, at least in part, to helping save their life.

Several other people suffered minor injuries.
