The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest released an announcement that a temporary road closure on Butcher Creek Road #6910 is planned for October 7th through October 11th while road construction occurs to repair a road culvert damaged from a 2018 flood.

This is about 15 miles northwest of Leavenworth and forest service promises improvement forest access once construction passes. The road has to be closed in order for large equipment to expose the culvert to repairs. At milepost 1.3 will be the start of the closure and while road work is underway, no access is available to trails #1529 and #1583, accesses to Nason Ridge and Alpine Lookout. Private residences below the work area will not be impacted.
