Vail Resorts CEO, owner of Steven's Pass Ski Resort, Rob Katz awards UV Cares, a free mental health clinic $50,000. Katz and his wife Elana Amsterdam distributed behavioral health grants through the Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust (KACT) to over 40 non-profit organizations in several mountain communities, including UV Cares.

"It's been a little over a year since we first initially applied," said Becki Subido, president of board of directors. "It was six different levels of examination that we needed to pass each level to be considered for the grant. As a new organization, it's very difficult to have organizations give us the seed money that we need, because we're brand new we don't have that historical, financial data for them to review."

The seed money will go toward opening the clinic's doors to offer mental health in a fresh and innovative approach. The clinic will offer teletherapy services to folks that would not typically be able to receive them, such as services can be offered at home, a parked car or any location.

"We are very pleased that the Katz Amsterdam Trust placed so much trust and confidence in us," said Subido.
