Vehicle Crash Knocked Out Power To 1,000 PUD Customers

A stolen vehicle took out a power pole at 19th and Cascade in East Wenatchee Friday evening resulting in an outage lasting several hours for some PUD customers. The power pole was completely severed and the downed lines sparked a small brush fire which was extinguished by Douglas County Fire #2

The collision was reported at 9:40pm and knocked out power to approximately 1,000 Douglas PUD customers. PUD crews had restored power to 800 customers by 11pm and restored service to all remaining customers by approximately 3am Saturday. Anyone still experiencing an interruption in service is asked to report problems to Douglas PUD at 509-884-7191
