North Central Washington Special Investigative Unit detectives continue to examine evidence regarding the the use of deadly force at the Living Hope Community Church last Saturday morning, leaving the subject, East Wenatchee resident 36 year old Alexander J. White, dead.

Special Investigative Unit Douglas County Under-Sheriff Tyler Caille says Mr. White was armed at the time of the confrontation by the Wenatchee Police Department. "Mr. White did have a gun when he was confronted by the Wenatchee Police Department officers responding to the scene that morning. Detectives are still working through all available footage."

Caille says discharging firearms in a public place, and endangering the population is a crime. "That is a crime in itself," he said. "Discharging a firearm in a populated area and in a reckless manner." White refused to comply when officers told him to put down his weapon.

The investigation has received additional assistance from the Central Basin Investigative Team and the Washington State Patrol Crime Response Team. All involved officers remain on administrative leave.
