Washington State Public Works Board will be hosting a public stakeholder workshop in Wenatchee on December 16th. The workshop will be both a discussion and an outlet for input on the implementation of Washington’s new Broadband Internet Service Access law.

The Broadband Internet Service Access law establishes minimum requirements for broadband internet access for businesses and residences throughout Washington.

"So we're setting up a grant, loan program to fund broadband build out to unserved areas of the state," said Shelley Westall, PWB broadband program director. "To do that, we have to develop agency rulemaking."

Input from the workshop will help the public works board set priorities for rulemaking work.

"The workshop we're holding is to get public feedback on things in the RCW that may inhibit them being successful or they may need clarification on when we actually open the funding phase," said Westall.

The workshop is from 1-4 in the Confluence Technology Center.
