According to a WalletHub study, the title of 'Lowest Energy Costs in America' goes to Washington State.

Our news partner iFIBER ONE reports the study takes the average cost of monthly electric use, natural gas cost, monthly motor-fuel cost, and home heating oil cost and combines them to calculate a total overall energy cost.

Washington spends $219 on energey and fuel on average, lower than every other state. The Evergreen State's electric costs are reportedly the 47th lowest at $103 per month. Washington is also 36th-lowest in terms of natural gas and 34th-lowest in monthly motor fuel cost.

However, the state is listed as having the third highest motor-fuel prices in America.

Washington's geographical neighbors were not close behind in the study, as Oregon ranked 48th and Idaho 45th. Connecticut has the highest cost of energy in the nation at $372 a month.
