The Washington State Patrol will have a heavy presence on I-90 this weekend focusing on illegal driving behaviors by motorcycles and other vehicles.

The emphasis comes after more motorcyclists died on Washington roads last year than any year since 1982. So far this year, 30 have been killed while riding in the state.

The State Patrol says each summer around 35-40 motorcycle riders die in Washington and count for a significantly larger portion of fatalities on the roads than non-bikes.

The emphasis will run from Snoqualmie Pass to Spokane.
