Washington State Patrol will undergo emphasis patrols as Washington State University students travel home to celebrate Thanksgiving. From November 21-December 1, troopers in Grant, Kittitas, Spokane, Whitman and Adams counties will be cracking down on speed, including driving too fast for conditions, distracted or impaired driving and other collision causing violations. There will be an increased trooper presence on State Routes 26 & 195 and Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass. Washington State Patrol suggests students that are making the trek across the state for the holiday to prepare vehicles for winter travel, such as snow tires and tire chains.
