WDFW Wolf Advisory Group is Seeking Citizen Candidates

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking interested candidates looking to serve for the next three years (2019-2021) on the Wolf Advisory citizen committee. The 18 member committee is responsible for advising the department on wolf recovery and management.

"They don't have to be fairly knowledgeable [about wildlife management], but they need to be aware of the facets of wildlife management and wolves coming back into the area, things like that. But there's no test or anything like that," said Staci Lehman, communications manager.

Currently there are four vacancies to fill, however Wolf Advisory Positions that become vacant within the year will be selected from the applications received as well. Meetings will begin in January 2020.

"For the most part it is just attending meetings. We don't generally have homework in between," said Lehman. "There's meetings at least quarterly, sometimes more often, depending on what is being worked on. They are usually full day meetings so the time commitment isn't huge, but the people who are on it are usually very passionate, put their all into it so we do ask they attend the meetings when they can."
