The Wenatchee and Eastmont School Districts announced Tuesday afternoon that they will partner with other local entities to put on a series of virtual graduations for the Class of 2020.

Wenatchee Communications Director Diana Haglund said the graduation will include recorded speeches from class speakers, distinguished alumni, and school leaders.

"It's going to be a great opportunity for them to share that same message that they would have shared live and in person in a traditional ceremony, but in a pre-recorded message." explained Haglund, "It will also include a picture of every one of our seniors and their name announced."

Students will also have an opportunity for interaction on the district's webpage with a program called Tagboard.

"The community can use #wenatcheegrad2020 to share pictures on social media of seniors celebrating from the comfort and safety of their home with their family in their cap and gown, or whatever way they choose to celebrate graduation with us," added Haglund.

Eastmont, Wenatchee, and WestSide High Schools' graduations will be broadcast on the NCWLIFE channel.

The graduations will be held at the exact times they normally would. Eastmont's graduation is set for June 5th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Wenatchee seniors will follow Eastmont, with their graduation 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm June 5th. WestSide High School will hold their virtual graduation the next week, June 11th, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
