Chelan County Sheriff deputies were led on an early Wednesday morning motorcycle pursuit and search that involved the motorcycle crashed and abandoned. The rider, a 35 year old Wenatchee man, was located and arrested after deputies and Wenatchee Police Department officers set up a containment.

According to Chief Jason Reinfeld, at around 5:50 a.m., a deputy was in the area of Maple and Wenatchee Avenue when the motorcycle went through the intersection at a high rate. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop and the motorcycle took off, a brief pursuit ensued. The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle on McKittrick Street westbound.

"Another officer located a crashed motorcycle on Western Avenue, right by Rotary Park," said Chief Reinfeld.

After a short period of time containing the area, the rider was arrested and found to have minor injuries.
