Wenatchee Police are asking for public help to locate a man they say started a fire Sunday evening inside the city’s Target Store.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene just after 7 pm, after a white man with a hoodie, face mask and Raiders baseball cap left the store while telling an employee there was a fire in the back of the store.

Wenatchee Police Sgt. Nathan Hahn says an employee actually put out the fire with an extinguisher after the suspect was the only person seen beforehand in the area where it started.

The suspect faces 1st Degree Arson Charges.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect leaving the store under the heading “arson suspect"

Sgt. Hahn says the suspect may have started the fire and alerted an employee of it while exiting the store as a distraction from his possible theft of merchandise.

Officers say he was last seen riding a white bicycle.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Wenatchee Police Detective Caleb Aumell at (509) 888-4255.
