Construction of Lincoln Park's pump track has been pushed back to next year after the Wenatchee City Council was forced to rescind its contract with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance due to labor issues.

Mayor Frank Kuntz says Evergreen was awarded the over $181,000 contract earlier this summer.

"So we had a time frame in there that this had to be completed by a certain date." stated Kuntz, "A lot of their work is volunteer work and a lot of their volunteers are fighting fires. They basically said they couldn't make the deadline. I think we sort of wanted to extend the deadline but our lawyers said we can't."

The project will now be added to the city's larger Lincoln Park remodeling project, which is set to go out to bid this winter. The pump track should be completed by the summer of 2022.
